 The Kent Klineman Acting Studio is based in West Hollywood, Los Angeles.
The Acting Studio provides a unique combination of Meisner and Linklater Technique in a safe supportive environment. The acting classes are open to people of all levels of development and is a great way for students to explore their innate creativity.
History of the Kent Klineman Acting Studio.
I established the Kent Klineman Acting Studio in 2000.
When I set up the studio, I wanted to teach an acting class called "Meisner without the Madness." I studied with Meisner himself at The Neighborhood Playhouse in NYC. I loved the powerful connection Meisner technique created between actors, and yet I was dissatisfied with Meisner's harsh and confrontational teaching style. I decided to teach the acting technique with kindness, compassion and clarity.
I wanted to enhance the student's own creativity in a safe nurturing environment. This environment would be co-operative rather than competitive, and the incoming student would feel like he/she is entering a supportive community of creative partners. We would be the first to blend Meisner and Linklater techniques to create deep connection between scene partners and a deep connection for each actor with his/her inner creative Self.
We have been training Actors and other Creatives for eleven years now in Los Angeles.
Specialties of the Kent Klineman Acting Studio.
We specialize in training Actors and other Creatives--Writers, Directors, Producers--and those with an interest in enhancing their comfort and poise in Public Speaking.
Meisner and Linklater Technique are combined to create relaxation and focus for the Performer. Meisner technique helps the Actor defeat self consciousness and stay in the moment. Linklater technique creates relaxation in the body and vocal path, and makes singing and speaking effortless and potent.
Kent Klineman studied directly with Sanford Meisner and Kristin Linklater,so he learned the techniques first hand, and he practices them with consideration and compassion. Small class size makes for a personalized program of study for each student.
We are currently accepting new students. Prospective students may join at any time of year, and we operate year round. Auditing permitted.Class has been operating in Los Angeles for eleven years. Kent has 20 years teaching experience, and has won a Tony Award as an Actor.
Acting Class Investment:
$220 per 4 Week Session

Payment/Deposit Policy:
Deposit: Everyone must leave a Non-Refundable deposit for one full four week session. This deposit is to cover your last four weeks of class, or to hold your space in case you take a leave of absence.
Ending Class: If you intend to leave class, I need eight weeks notice of the date you intend to leave, and then you may use your deposit to cover the last four weeks in class. If I do not receive at least eight weeks' notice, your deposit is forfeited.
